Setting up a studio is expensive business.

A wallet-friendly option is available to suit various users’ habits of working.

As a studio user, you will benefit from unlimited clay and assignment of shelf and storage space*.
If your work is often spurred by immediate inspiration, you can book into our studio as a one-time user. For users who would like to do 1-2 session a week, a 20 or 40 hour pass will serve your needs.

Develop your craft in a conducive and creative space without having to worry about equipment investment and maintenance.

  • Studio is centrally located, 5 minutes walk to Mountbatten MRT station.
  • Studio hours are:
    Tues – Fri 2pm –6pm.
    Sat 9am – 6pm
    Closed Mon & PH
  • We accept request for studio usage outside of our operating hours for Tues – Fridays.

Studio Facilities:

Glasswork

  • Bettle’s Bit Cutting system, glass cutter, running pliers, and dedicated workspace.
  • Wide range of Bullseye Glass sheets and accessories available for sale (from Nov 2014 onwards)
  • Glass kiln available for rental

Ceramics

  • 9 potter’s wheel (1/2 to 1 horse power, option for electronic control.
  • Professional Slab roller.
  • Full range of ceramic tools and equipment, banding wheels of various sizes. workboards, plasterboards
  • Free use of GCS dipping glazes (12 colours, cone 5 / 11180°C)

TYPES OF USERS’ SCHEME

Access to a studio space is a basic requirement to develop your craft. At Goodman Ceramic Studio, we offer a few schemes to cater for the one-off users as well as artist working intensively on their works.

Conditions for user scheme

  • Period of validity is strictly not extendable.
  • Use of equipment: All users need to have prior knowledge in using pottery equipment such as the throwing wheel, banding wheel and slab-roller. Studio manager requires proof of basic level skill before approving. Wheel throwing users need to have attended at least one Throwing Course.
  • This scheme is only eligible for 18 years and above. Exception is based on assessment by the studio manager.
  • Full studio user rates apply to participants 18 years and below.
    These participants need to be accompanied by guardian at all times.
  • Use of clay is limited to studio use only.
  • Use of studio area is limited to assigned wheel or space. In the event of infringement of usage, management reserves the right to terminate the rights to studio use.
  • Liability Release. The acceptance of this scheme releases the management of claims arising from injuries arising from the use of equipment and space.
